Friday Bling

I've been so busy lately I almost forgot to obsess over jewelry. But when I was in Hawaii I saw this gal's stuff in a shop, and I was smitten. This ring is awesome and it tickles my inner Harry Potter geek. It reminds me of a ring I had in the sixth grade, only nicer and a lot more expensive. I might buy myself the shark tooth necklace for my birthday. It's not cheap but I deserve it. I pushed out a baby this year and got a new job. Plus, Ceci is getting teeth and my world is a poopisode. If you have no idea what I mean, let me tell you, teething = diarrhea. Only bling will make me feel better about having poo smeared all over my house and life. Gold is shiny and diamonds sparkle.

Wednesday's Bling is Full of Piss and Vinegar

I love it. I am a huge fan of the multiple- finger ring. But honestly, what is up with the hand model's oddly bloated pinkie finger? God. I know that's rude but at least I'm promoting the product to my 13 faithful readers (and mystery lurkers), right?
I'm really just jealous because I had a dream to be a hand model. I was vain of my hands for many years until I had an unfortunate encounter with a bread knife while working at the Pink Door. Cutting yourself with a serrated knife is some gory shit for real. I went to the ER for stitches and felt like a big baby with my bloody finger when they roomed me between a guy who almost severed his arm with a chainsaw and another guy who was mauled by his own pit bull. These are the people you meet at the ER for folks with no health insurance.
Seven stitches later my dream died. My left index finger is now Frankenfinger. It's all good. My beauty comes from the inside, obviously.
So anyway, if you are a mystery reader, leave me a comment already! I'd love to know you. (Unless it's a mean comment, don't do that. I'm ridiculously sensitive).

Weekend Bling

A great big thanks to Studio 30+ for adding my blog to today's Saturday Spotlight! I think they included everyone who emailed them, but I'm just going to go ahead and pretend I've just won a really prestigious award. It's good for my self-esteem, ok?

Weekend Bling

I absolutely love the jewelry this gal makes. I know she lives somewhere in Washington state because I see her jewelry on lots of cute ladies in my town. I have a pair of her earrings cast from maple seed pods and I get lots on compliments on them. A girl in my birthing class wore these earrings cast from turkey bones, and they looked fantastic on her.
I can't stop thinking about our first childbirth class on Wednesday night. It was held in the basement of the childbirth center, and a woman upstairs was in labor during our class. What started out as lots of footsteps over our heads and the sounds of bathwater running through pipes evolved into full blown labor moans over the three hours we were there. All the windows were open upstairs and down so we got the full effect. Needless to say, it was a challenge to pay attention to the class with all that going on. I'm still trying to process my feelings about it. I feel lucky to have heard her "birth song" as our teacher called it, but I'm getting more and more nervous about my own birth. I'm getting increasingly uncomfortable in my expanding body and I'm hoping that translates into added motivation to push baby X out. I'm thinking my own birth song will be less melodious and more shrieking expletives and such.

Pencilneck

Here's our daily fix of cute bling from Supermarket. It's cast from a real pencil! Love it.
